At the 45th Reunion Dinner on Saturday, September 12, on behalf of the class of 1970, Tom Roberts and Mike Harris surprised Debbie Johnson (pictured below) and awarded her with an official Ward varsity letter “W.” The letter was presented in recognition of her numerous contributions and hard work on all of our reunions, as well as all of the communications efforts she manages. As many know, earlier this year Debbie took it upon herself to launch a website for the class, the only class to have one! And she does a monthly newsletter, keeps track of our database including birthdays and more.
The recognition of the varsity letter was endorsed by Ward itself who provided the official letter, and who agreed that Debbie had more than earned it. It was beautifully framed in a shadow box with a plaque which reads: “Presented to Debbie Johnson from the Class of 1970, Bishop Ward High School, with our appreciation at our 45th Class Reunion.” Debbie was totally surprised, very honored and very humbled by the recognition and it’s now one of her “prized” possessions.
